"Why I don't like people coming to my door, selling religion"
by Captain Schmideo2 inthis is from a blog, "news from me" that i read fairly regularly.
mark evanier is, among other things, a comic book writer (co-writer for "groo-the wanderer), a television writer, a great raconteur, and was a close person friend of jack kirby, one of the world's greatest comic book artists.he got an email from a jw trying to explain why they come to his door.evanier's answer is well thought out, and should explain to even the densest j-dub why people really don't like being bothered.
maybe his correspondent will take it to heart, but probably not.

New "donation" arrangement begins to FAIL
by Tech49 inso here we are, almost a year into the "new" congregation donation arrangement.
and its beginning, as was predicted, to fail miserably, and to have direct negative consequences on the poor sheep.. let me give you a little experience, directly from our congregation of about 80 publishers.
back in may, after reading the letter about the "new" arrangement, the elder body decided to "donate" the extra funds on hand to wt, as directed.

And, so, someone from my age group just dropped dead...
by Captain Schmideo2 inwell, not at first, but the brain damage had been done, and he would have been on a machine for the rest of his life.i figure he was about 55. that ain't old, folks!but, not to worry.
when i was a child, i was told on good authority that i would never grow old in this system of things.
i imagine he was told the same thing.

Curious how today's JWs view the anti-vaxxer movement
by undercover ini wonder how the average jw in our modern world views the new anti-vaxxer movement.
do they sympathize, agree - or - see them as kooky, out of touch, nutso - or - somewhere in between.. remember, back in the olden, golden days...or should i say, the golden age, the wts took a hard line stance against vaccinations.
see jwfacts info regarding the the anti-vaccination stand taken by the wts:.

What if "IT" was all just a dream?
by titch ini'm not really sure as to what category that i should put this into, so i'll just try, and put it here.
this is based upon a posting that i saw and read on facebook recently.
and, the question is: what if life---as you know it---was just one big dream?

What are your experiences having Jehovah Witnesses work for you or you work with?
by adjusted knowledge ini've managed several thousand employees in the last decade.
i've had a handful that identified themselves as witnesses.
from experience, they were no different than any other employees.

Back on the Forum
by Captain Schmideo2 ini patiently waited for my old username to work again, but since it seems it never will, i just added a "2" to my original name, and gave up all aspirations for continuing my "jedi-hood".
sigh.
so, hello all!.
